Next day we got in a quick walk to check out the SANParks systematic destruction of Pietie se punt but nothing more yet. No keep out signs - just a few SANParks vehicles that hurtle over the roads at great speed every now and then. Photo shows stormy clouds over the Soetanysberg - and it rained a bit in the afternoon but we managed another walk towards Rasper Punt in the evening then drove to Agulhas for fish and chips.
Next day we did a walk up past the water tanks to the limestone slabs, then down to Rasper Punt and back along the beach. Tails up near the fresh water at Rasper Punt. View from Daisy.
Lots of giant African land snails, Achatina zebra, indigenous to South Africa. See also blog post from Coco.
Stephen did a bit of bush clearing and unearthed this large (about 4 cm from nose to tail) rain spider, Palystes castaneus.
On our way out we resisted the temptation to try out a new Wine Boutique opposite the fish and chips shop - looks nice. Came home via Greyton where we had tea with mom and Jane and Andrew.
